Your plane lands in the Philippines, and you’re hoping to meet a beautiful Filipina love. Dreams of dating an Asian girl have been building in your mind since 9th grade math class. Ok, maybe not. Maybe when you we’re 35 it hit you out of the blue. Maybe your first taste of an Asian girl got the best of you and you caught yellow fever forever. Whatever the case, here you are. The promised land. No more hoping to find an Asian girl walking around your local supermarket. You’re finally here and you couldn’t avoid them if you tried.

So perhaps you’re trying to find that beautiful Filipina love online, and you’ve been chatting with a few Philipino cuties here and there. You’ve learned the way they chat, the little acronyms they use (“bb” for “baby,” “oi” for basically getting your attention), started to text message with them, and you’ve finally set up a date. You’re on your way in the tricycle now. Or was it a jeepney? Perhaps you rented a motorbike?

She asks you to meet her at Jollibee because it’s a familiar location and easy for her to find. Ha. Ha. Ha. Easy for her to find? Really? She lives here. Jesus. The Filipino Hide & Seek Game

cute shy filipinaHide and Seek? Ah yes what a fun game. I remember it like it was yesterday. Covering my eyes while counting backwards from ten. Then going on the hunt throughout the house for my sister or brother. Good times, good times.

So why is it that meeting a Filipina from a dating website seems to remind me so much of playing hide and seek? Well, maybe because that’s exactly what they do when they meet you. Another cultural difference? Maybe.

It’s happened countless of times. I’m online chatting with a Filipino girl for a couple days (or hours) and we decide to meet up somewhere. Sometimes it’s at a mall like SM or Robinson’s, or sometimes it’s just a small place like the Mini Stop in Angeles City.

Ok, so little miss cute Filipina had her heart broken by her last Filipino boyfriend. But so did every other girl in the world. They are just using these answers to hide the real reason, which is too embarrassing for them to admit. Remember, in the Filipino culture, “saving face” is of the utmost importance. Let me break it down into simple terms for you.

“A better life.”

Coming from extreme poverty is no easy task, and I don’t come from there. I see it every day in the Phiippines and I can only imagine how difficult it must be. People in any country and any place will do just about anything to better themselves, especially if they are on the low end of the totem pole.

So these beautiful Pinay girls – they don’t actually like foreigners more for who they are as a person. No, it’s not that. It’s the fact that dating a foreigner gives them more hope for their future. A hope that with a foreigner husband, their family won’t have to worry about food. A hope that with a foreigner husband, they can finally move out of the slums and into a nice home.

The Danger of a Filipina Woman That Only Dates Foreigners (Part 1)

You’ve met them before, but you might not know that you have. Maybe you’ve heard them say it before. She tells you something along the lines of since her last Filipino boyfriend, she will never date another Filipino.

When you’re looking for a Filipino girl to keep, you might want to keep this in mind. I’ve gotten into the minds of at least a few hundred girls from the Philippines since 2007. I’ve probed, asked questions, and tried to learn what they want. I’ve also done this in America. I’ve got a strong grasp on relationships and people’s emotions. Lying, jealousy, love, being genuine – these are things I can detect rather easily.

If the goal is to find a Filipina wife and settle down, read on. But, this only applies to you if you want REAL love, and not just a wife that you hardly know and basically import into your country. Some guys want just that. They meet a girl, can hardly pronounce her last name, and then marry her. And that’s fine by me and many others, because that’s just what some people want, and everyone is different. Some guys just want a cute and loving Filipina to take care of them.

Why are Filipina Women Super Jealous?

This has been an issue and question of mine for the longest time. Why are these Filipina girls so damn jealous? I just don’t get it, and I don’t think I ever will. I’ve tried to reason and make sense out of it, but I just can’t. At first I thought it was because this particular Philippine girl I’m talking to had a bad past. You know, a boyfriend that cheated on her and kept lying.

But then I ran into girls that never even had a boyfriend before. Never even had a date. And they were still doing the same exact immature, jealous type things. Coming from America, this was truly a culture shock. And that’s really the only answer I have. It’s just…part of their culture. At first I became infuriated, agitated, pissed off, annoyed. But once I realized it’s almost like a chain reaction for them to say certain things, it got easier to deal with. I just picture myself getting in my car and putting on my seatbelt, and I tell myself that doing this action is just like a Filipino girl‘s response to something I say.

So you’re traveling to the Philippines? Awesome. The place is great. Tons of fun, sites to see. Forget about what that Jimmy guy said on his video – this place is great. But more importantly, you’re looking for a little cute Filipina girl to settle down with. Did I say settle down with? Ok maybe not. Maybe you’re just looking for a fling. Maybe you just want some company on your 2 week trip with no strings attached. But maybe you do want to find someone that you could possibly marry in the Philippines.

Well, first things first, there are scammers in this world. Now by no means are there more scammers in the Philippines than there are anywhere else in the world, but if you’re looking for a girl, then a few warnings and tips could save you some money and frustration (and possibly heartache) in the end.

Is The Philippines Really That Dangerous?

I am an average guy who grew up in a large city here in the states.  Since my retirement, I’ve been wanting to move to the Philippines.  My wife who is a Filipina tells me that it is too dangerous that I would be kid-napped.

I tell her that I could take care of myself with anything that comes my way, in other words I am not a push over.  Should I say; I worked as a longshoremen, teamster, as well as 23 years inside three different prison.  No not as an inmate, as a prison guard and retired sergeant.  So to put it mildly, I watch my back.

Now with all that said, do I have much to worry about?  My wife and I have a two story home in Sta. Margarita, Samar.  When I was there in Samar and Manila, I felt comfortable among the Filipino people.  As a matter of fact I found them to be very inviting and nice in general.  So what’s the big deal?  Is my wife just trying to scare me?  I don’t scare easy.

So what do you say?  Would like any advise from any American who permanently lives in the Philippines.

Filipina astrophysicist verifies the theory of relativity in deep space

Reinabelle Reyes, a 28-year-old Filipina astrophysicist, led a team at Princeton that proved Eintsein’s Theory of General Relativity beyond our own solar system. Currently a fellow at the University of Chicago, she hopes to one day return to the Philippines and make a contribution to help solve some of the immediate problems facing her own country.
